Abby Nester, MS

Abigail, MS, is a Master’s-level therapist serving Yardley and Bucks County, Pennsylvania. She works with children, adolescents, young adults, and couples, offering a warm, relational, and developmentally sensitive approach to counseling.

Abigail earned her Bachelor of Arts in Art Therapy from Arcadia University and her Master of Science in Counseling from Cairn University. She has experience supporting clients with anxiety, depression, ADHD, shame, relationship concerns, life transitions, and identity development. She has worked with both college students and children, and brings over 13 years of experience working with children into her clinical work.

Having  cultivated a particular passion for working with children and adolescents, she values creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate space where children feel comfortable expressing themselves and making sense of their emotions. She is especially interested in helping children build emotional awareness, strengthen coping skills, and develop a secure sense of self.

In individual therapy, Abigail uses an integrative, client-centered approach, drawing from evidence-based modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and attachment-based therapy. She also has experience working with couples and enjoys helping individuals and partners better understand patterns, improve communication, and build more secure and fulfilling relationships. She is currently pursuing additional training in play therapy and plans to specialize in working with children as a primary population.

Abigail respects the importance of each client’s personal values, beliefs, and worldview, and is open to incorporating spirituality or faith into the counseling process when it is meaningful to the client. Furthermore, she believes that a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation for meaningful change and strives to create a compassionate, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe to explore their experiences, develop insight, and move toward lasting growth and healing.
